The structure object creates clusters of Objects along a splines and spline segments.

It is easy to use, and useful for creating lots of building like structures.


What is it for?

  1. It was made to splat clusters of objects, that look a bit like buildings, along road splines when you don't have real building outlines.
  2. It can also be used to create scifi city blocks, quickly. 


The structure object requires a Spline object, as its parent.

Structure Object can have, but does not require, a DEM Earth parent.


Settings

The settings should be near to self explanatory.

  • Generate : Polygons or Splines.
  • Passes:  Increasing passes generate more stuff :), and more detail :)
  • Seed: A random seed.
  • Smooth interpolation :  set if you want the spline parent to be interpolated smoothly, or not :)
  • Invert sides :  Toggle which side the process starts on.
  • Both sides : Enable this if you want stuff to grow on both sides of your spline.

Blocks

  • Define where stuff should be generated and the size of that stuff...
  • The fun stuff.
  • Square : squares each block. Squaring is more building like :)

Fields

  • Are cool :) Add one, and be amazed :) 
  • These cost processing time, but they are ....cool :) 

A field is used to mask out blocks.

Just a circle spline, with several passes. Polygon output.

Same as the previous mode, but set to output spline segments.


tip:

  • if you have a newer version of DEM Earth, and you have the trim spline deformer, you can use this with the Structure Object in spline mode. Give it a try :) The new Cluster object can also be used with Structure in spline mode.
  • This object Generator does not require active support.
